THE DECOMPRESSION TABLE

The table uses load-sensing technology to monitor force and resistance throughout treatment, with eight preset hold-and-release protocols.

The seven sensors in the table continually monitor the patient to ensure precise force and repeatable treatments. The mechanical delivery means the same force profile can be reproduced precisely at each session.

With eight hold and release protocols built in, a variety of conditions can be treated. These protocols are designed to reduce intradiscal pressure while monitoring for muscle guarding during treatment.

At NSSC, our focus is to provide personalised spinal decompression treatments in Melbourne. Our aim is to help patients manage pain associated with these conditions. What is achievable in your case is discussed at your assessment.

OUR NON SURGICAL TREATMENT IS:

  • Non Invasive
  • Convenient

No down time from normal activities.

  • Drug free

No medication is used as part of the treatment.

A NON-SURGICAL OPTION FOR SOME CAUSES OF CHRONIC BACK AND NECK PAIN.

Treatment is non-invasive and most patients find it comfortable. As with any treatment, responses differ and some people experience temporary soreness. Suitability for the cervical or lumbar spine is determined at assessment.

The conditions we most commonly assess for suitability are lower back and neck pain, sciatica and referred arm or leg pain associated with disc bulge, disc herniation or degenerative disc disease.

Taking the pressure of the discs and joints, through gentle and specifically targeted stretching of the spine, to reduce pain and improve mobility.

THE TREATMENTS

WHAT TO EXPECT

Most patients find being on the decompression table comfortable and the overall treatment very pleasant.  When the body is completely relaxed, muscle guarding (where the muscles can tighten in fear of being hurt or moved in a strange way), can be avoided and the 20-minute treatment time can be a therapeutic experience.

IS IT A PAINFUL PROCESS?

Typically not. Some patients may experience temporary soreness which is a sign that muscles have been worked in a new way, however this generally passes once the muscles are relaxed during treatment.

IS THE TREATMENT SAFE?

Nonsurgical spinal decompression is generally well tolerated. As with any treatment, individual responses differ and adverse reactions are possible. The most commonly reported effect is temporary muscle soreness. Your suitability, including screening for contraindications, is assessed before treatment begins.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET RESULTS?

Some patients feel a symptomatic improvement after a few sessions however, where longer lasting change does occur, it is usually gradual and takes a series of treatments before improvement is achieved.
